The DEEP System™ Step-by-Step

Collection

One of the key features of our system is that it is able to sequester both smell and sight. By containing all municipal solid waste inside a sealed building, we are able to keep the noxious elements of waste management out of sight and out of mind of the larger community. And given our fast turn-over rate of solid waste, it never has the chance to stink or break down into noxious compounds.

Coarse Shred

With our initial shredding step, we homogenize and break up the solid waste. By ensuring that everything is uniform, we can effectively sort the waste into recyclable material and material we can use to generate electricity.

Fine Shred

All remaining waste is then put through an additional shredding process, breaking it down further to ensure consistency and preparing it for our proprietary DEEP system™.

Hydrolyze

Through a patented process, the waste is hydrolyzed, tuning it into a homogeneous, sterile, odorless “fluff.” This fluff has over 20X the surface area of the original waste, which ensures that it burns consistently and completely. Additionally, we treat it with our proprietary Hit Mix™, which binds to the fluff and increases the amount of useful energy that we can extract.

Burn

The treated fluff is then fed to our proprietary Biomass Thermal Chamber (BTC). The BTC burns the fluff at extremely high efficiency and uses the energy to turn a series of ultra-high efficiency microturbines. This produces a whopping 2-2.5 megawatts per ton of waste, making it the most efficient waste-to-energy conversion on the market. Not only is the BTC a high efficiency way to turn waste into energy, but the fluff burns so completely that it becomes fly ash, a valuable commodity which can be sold to the concrete industry.

Scrub

Finally, to ensure that no pollutants escape into the atmosphere, we use a plasma flame to scrub all exhaust gasses. This final step ensures that no noxious gasses or harmful pollutants escape into the atmosphere. Because of this, all our emission standards meet or exceed the United State’s EPA standards, which are some of the most stringent in the world.

The world generates of 2.1 BILLION tons of waste each year.

Don't let it swamp your community.
